Ishika is 12 years old, born and brought up in Zakhira slum. She wants to become a doctor when she is older!
She loves coming to Street Learning’s classes, especially to learn English.
Ishika is always the first kid to introduce herself to visitors and asks them ‘what is your favourite cuisine?’
Her Hindi nickname is ‘Chhipklli’ which means lizard.
Rahul, is 13 year old and wants to become a teacher when he is older.
As he is older than most of the kids, he practises his teaching skills by helping teach lessons at Street Learning.
He loves learning English, in particular speaking and writing! And he always has a cheeky smile on his face!
Shabana is 14, born and brought up in Zakhira slum. She wants to be a tour guide when she grows up.
She is quite shy and coming to Street Learning classes has helped develop her confidence.
Shabana loves talking to visitors and practising her English.
Pooja is 14 years old and is Zakhira’s grand master at Carrom board and Ludo.
She has 2 brothers and 1 sister who also attend our classes. Pooja wants to be a Police Officer when she grows up.
She loves coming to Street Learning classes to learn English.
Varsha is 13 years old and wants to become a teacher when she is older.
She loves coming to Street Learning classes, especially to learn reading and writing.
Varsha can speak some Japanese thanks to some volunteer teacher we had a couple of years ago. She likes practising with Japanese speaking vistiors.
DK is 12 years old and attends classes with three of his siblings!
He is a very enthusiastic learner and picks up new things very quickly.
As we are introducing the children to technology, DK has found a love of video games and would like to design them when he is older.
